Hell’s Fire Anemone

The Hell’s Fire Anemone may look innocent, but it’s actually very dangerous.  If you ever happen to see one of these creatures, don’t touch it.

  • The Hell’s Fire Anemone is found in the Australian tropical waters.
  • They are capable of stinging and that sting is extremely painful.  It can even be deadly to young children.
  • The Hell’s Fire Anemone is covered with branching tentacles.
  • In the center of the tentacles, there is an oval opening which is the mouth and anus.  That’s right.  The Hell’s Fire Anemone will eat its food, digest the food, and then remove the waste products through the same hole.
