Writer’s Block

I love to write, but sometimes I just look at a blank page.  Writer’s block can be annoying.  Unfortunately, it is a part of being a writer.

Tips on overcoming writer’s block:

  • Spend time reading.  If you want to be a good writer, this is a prerequisite.
  • Relax and write down anything that comes to mind.  Writing junk is better than not writing at all.
  • Visit local museums, parks, events, art galleries, or other local places of interest.  Getting away from your desk and into the real world is a great way to find topics to write about.
  • Find a new and different location to write (coffee shop or library for example).  Sometimes a change of scenery is just the thing to get your creative juices flowing.
