Murphy’s Law Decided to Visit

Earlier this week, I wrote a blog post about our washing machine breaking and about our shopping experience.

Our new washing machine was delivered Monday afternoon and our dryer died Monday night.  Tuesday I went to Lowe’s and purchased a new dryer.

This morning we wake up and the house feels like a sauna.  The air conditioning unit is turned on, but it isn’t doing anything.  I am not sure if the unit is completely dead or if the repair man can revive it.  We are still waiting on the verdict.

In one week our washing machine died, our dryer died, and our AC unit is in critical condition.

Murphy decided to visit my family and smack us in the head with a giant bat.

Goodness!!! Silver lining? Almost all major appliances will be up-to-date and should last for quite a long time. *crosses fingers* I really hope nothing else breaks down.

First world problems. Really a storm in a teacup. If you have money to pay electricity for these accoutrement, plus just buying a new one if it breaks, you live on a planet closer to heaven. Try being a disabled, unsupported missionary trying to scrape through on $100/pm. I will gladly swap places with you!

  3. Well, at least that’s the three bad things done with. If the universe is invoking Murphy’s Law, it has to play by the “bad things come in threes” rule as well!

  4. Goodness. A dryer while it is so warm? Try hanging it in the sun. We use the dryer only in prolonged rain, as for air-con., our house uses double glazing, but in extreme heat or cold, have fans or use gas heating.
