Kinetic Sculpture Exhibit

Huntsville Botanical Gardens has kinetic sculptures, created by George Sherwood, on display during the month of September.  It is a fascinating exhibit.

The way the sculptures move with the wind and the way the light reflects on the surface is rather hypnotic.  I was amazed by each one of them.

While I was there, I decided to try the corn maze.  If you’ve never wandered around lost in a corn field, you should give it a try.  It’s kind of fun.

  1. Those sculptures do look like they would be impressive with movement. I haven’t ever been brave enough to do a maze, but, I have heard if you get lost to keep a hand on one side or the other of the maze. It may take you longer, but, eventually, you’ll get out and won’t go around in circles.

  2. Interesting. I’ve done a few corn mazes, but have no desire to do more. To me (just my opinion), they pretty much fit the old cliché “If you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all.”

Here’s a sculpture exhibit (permanent) near where I live in southwest Ohio that may interest you:
