The Life of Microscopic Creatures

Sometimes, I think about all the different cells, microscopic mites, and other things that live on or within the human body.  I wonder what life would be like, if I was such a creature.

Blood cells run around all day.  They collect oxygen and deliver that oxygen all over the body.

  • Hello, Blood Cell Fred.  What are you doing today?
  • Well, I am going to collect and deliver oxygen.  The same thing I did yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that, and the day before that, and……..

The immune system is responsible for defense.  White blood cells are solders and they are always ready for a fight.

  • Intruder Alert!  All available solders report to the sinus cavity ASAP.  Deploy mucus defenses and prepare for combat.

Microscope mites live on our bodies, including on our eyelashes.  When I lose an eyelash that would be a catastrophic event in their world.

  • This is Molly Mite, reporting for Mighty Might News.  An eyelash, known as Miniville, mysteriously disappeared.  The number of causalities is unknown at this time.  Also, the Department of Missing Mites is overwhelmed by mites trying to locate loved ones that lived in the region.  Further updates will be available during the 7:00 broadcast.
