My daughter was diagnosed with a moderate to severe hearing bi-laterally when she was 4. They were amazed that she had taught herself to lip read so well no one noticed until she had a hearing test at school. Then all sorts of little things made sense. Like the strange questions she would ask. I would say I have to put the cheese away and she would pause and then ask me why I needed to weigh the cheese? Ah, she was trying to create context. I need to ask her this question.
My husbands hearing aids lie in his drawer. That tells you a lot

I often make mistakes like that. It can lead to all kinds of misunderstandings.
I would like to know how your daughter answers the question.
