  1. There was a great moment in the PBS series, The Power of Myth, when Bill Moyers turns to the writer Joseph Campbell and asked a simple question. Joseph Campbell was a professor of comparative religion who had studied just about every form of belief and mythology in human history and the series covered the subject of human spirituality. Campbell knew his stuff and had experienced just about everything.

    “What was your most spiritual experience,” Moyers asked.

    “It was on the track at Columbia,” Campbell responded, “running the 100 yard dash.”
