Betty White’s book is excellent. She discusses her childhood, work as an actor, personal life as an adult, her passion for animals, and gives general advice to the reader.
Here are my favorite passages.
I prefer the company of animals to humans. Animals don’t lie. Animals don’t criticize. If animals have moody days, they handle them better than humans do.
I think everyone needs a passion. Whether it’s one passion or a hundred, that’s what keeps life interesting. If you live without passion, you can go through life without leaving any footprints. You might leave behind pleasant memories in the minds of friends and acquaintances, but those dissipate quickly.
Friendship can be so comfortable, but nurture it-don’t take it for granted.
You can’t get carried away with your image, because you know better than anyone else who the real person is.
