The Cruise Ship – Carnival Elation

Malia and I boarded Carnival Elation around 11:00 on Thursday Morning.  The ship was bigger and better than I could have ever imagined.

There were so many things to do on board: swimming, hanging out in the hot tubs, playing mini golf, attending one of the numerous shows, viewing the art gallery, playing the scheduled trivia games or contest, watching other boats near the shores or out in the ocean, sitting on the deck to enjoy the ocean view, gambling at the ship’s casino, and of course there was tons of delicious food to eat.

The staff was friendly and helpful.  I especially enjoyed how our cleaning staff always created animals out of the towels they left in our room.  It was absolutely adorable.

Just being on the cruise ship was an amazing experience that I will never forget.

My Soda Bottle Boat

I built a boat out of 2-liter soda bottles and waterproof fabric.  The pool noodles were used to create a comfortable seat.  The bottles are held together with gorilla glue, duct tape, and rope.  I used Flex Seal to adhere the fabric to the boat and the duct tape held it all together, while the Flex Seal was drying.

Today, I took my boat out on its maiden voyage.  I am sad to say, it did not go well.  The boat was way off balance and kept tipping over and throwing me into the water.  On a positive note, the boat never sank.

The boat will now spend the rest of its life at the city dump.

Spring Break 2017 – Pensacola, Florida

We went to Pensacola for spring break this year and our favorite part of the trip was the Pensacola Lighthouse Museum.

Gwen and I climbed to the top of the lighthouse.  We walked up 177 steps (similar to walking up 12 flights of stairs).  Also, the staircase was narrow with holes in each step, so you could see all the way to the bottom while walking back down the stairs.
