The Abandoned Hotel

Last Wednesday, Malia and I drove down to Jacksonville, Florida.  On the way, we had a few interesting adventures.

We found an abandoned hotel and decided to go exploring.  It was rather interesting.  The building was in horrible condition and there were numerous piles of trash.

As I walked through the place, I tried to picture what the hotel must have been like in the past.  Tourist and other types of travelers would stay at the hotel.  Families vacationed here and some people had fond memories of the place.

As the years progressed and the building was not maintained.  The cliental would change  and I am sure some horrible things happened at that hotel.

If the building could talk, what would it say?  Would it mourn its current state?  Would it feel lonely, now that it has been abandoned?  Would it feel anger toward the owner that neglected it?

Spring Break 2017 – Pensacola, Florida

We went to Pensacola for spring break this year and our favorite part of the trip was the Pensacola Lighthouse Museum.

Gwen and I climbed to the top of the lighthouse.  We walked up 177 steps (similar to walking up 12 flights of stairs).  Also, the staircase was narrow with holes in each step, so you could see all the way to the bottom while walking back down the stairs.
