Yesterday, Gwen and I went to Carnegie Visual Arts Center in Decatur, Alabama.
My favorite exhibit was “Safe” by Sarah Carlisle Towery. The colors in the painting are striking. You can see the deep emotions felt by the subject of the painting. I think it’s an excellent piece of art, and I really enjoyed having the opportunity to view it.
The Carnegie Visual Arts Center is located in Decatur, Alabama. It is only a couple of blocks from the banks of the Tennessee River.
The current exhibit showcases local artist.
I took another painting class last night and had a blast. This painting is called Starry Night Over Huntsville.
I took an art class at Pinot’s Palette. It was a blast and the instructors were wonderful. I had so much fun, I decided to take another class next month.
This is my painting. It wasn’t a difficult piece, but birds gave me a bit of trouble.
According to the dictionary, art is “the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination,” and an artist is one who creates art.
Some people judge artist by trying to put them in a box. If your art is not to their standard and liking, then they think you are not a real artist.
If you are an artist, don’t allow people to put you in a box. Let your creativity and imagination shine through in your work.
