The main character is a teenage girl with superpowers. Her mother kept her locked in the house for over a decade. However, the mother goes missing and various organizations are determined to capture the girl.
My review of this book series is mixed. I enjoyed the way the writer described the characters and the scenarios.
My main complaint about the book was it didn’t seem logical. There were to many things that were not explained and certain situations seemed excessive.
This story is an interesting twist on the superhero genre. Dave has superpowers, but he also has family issues, work drama, and a major drinking problem. His life is a mess. He is nothing like you would expect a superhero to be.
Instead of just being a disappointment to everyone around him, Dave decides to start using his powers to do good in the world. However, he makes a lot of mistakes and ends up being investigated for murder.
I enjoyed reading the book. I found it to be funny and entertaining.
Today is Free Comic Book Day, so we went to Deep Comics in Huntsville, Alabama. They had a big selection of freebies and all their regular merchandise was on sale. It was a fun way to spend our Saturday.
If you have time today, check out your local comic book store and you might be able to get some free comic books too.
The Huntsville Museum of Art is also doing a pop culture exhibit about superheroes.
I was impressed by the different types of artwork and mediums used to create each piece. It’s a great exhibit and it was a lot fun to see.
The book, Abigail Awesome – The Amazing Ace, is about a 12 year old girl that finds a magical cape (once belonging to her grandmother) and becomes a superhero.
She uses her powers to save the planet from an evil man bent on turning humans into monsters, which he can control.
I didn’t like this book at all. I also don’t recommend it. The story line was fair and consistent, but the main character seemed to get on my nerves.
I give this book a D-
